Not a fan of some things on Virily

When I first joined Virily, no matter how many virils you earned in a given month your earnings were calculated and credited to your account. Now, you have to earn more than 200 virils in a given month for your earnings for that month to be calculated and credited to your account. For those that are not familiar with virils, these are points you earn on the Virily site that at the end of the month get converted to dollars and cents. In May, I did not reach the virils minimum, so will not earn anything and think it's unfair that they are doing this. There is nothing wrong with setting an earnings minimum to get paid (over there it is $10) but setting a minimum to get your earnings calculated is not right. Virily also stopped letting us earn for some things we used to earn for before. And they apparently set limits to things as well (how many posts we can earn for, etc), though I am not sure what they are and where to get that info. This cannot be a good sign for the site. I hope that doesn't mean the site is gonna vanish from existence. If it does, would be nice to reach my second $10 minimum and get paid before the site is no more.

I enjoyed my time working for Virily before I had a tough time trying to get into the site to share good news stories a few years ago.

Congrats! It's taking me forever to reach $10, especially now since I have not posted anything of my own in months.

I used to publish only quizzes and occasional polls there. Creating quizzes there was a pain in the butt so I stopped. And the last one I tried to do was not approved. It was a quiz on random things. It wasn't on a specific topic. Perhaps it is not allowed to do quizzes that are not on a specific topic.

@lovebuglena for me, it is the polls because it earns 2 Vs for every view. Now I am trying to earn more by posting more polls like 5 in a day.

I am not on Virily although I was invited to join before. It seems that it takes ages to reach the minimum.

There are people there who reach $10 every month or every few months from what I heard before. It takes me way too long to reach it. They don't accept new members anymore. Haven't in a while.

I hope you reach $10 before they close down.

Thanks! I hope they won't shut down any time soon. I guess I have to start trying to publish stuff again because viewing others' published stuff and leaving a comment no longer earns us. And I can't rely on people checking out my old stuff without publishing new stuff.

@LindaOHio Quizzes are definitely frustrating to do and I hate the fact that you need an image to publish one.

You need $3 more to get there. If you share your Virily posts on social media perhaps you can get views and comments and earn something and without publishing anything new.

Nope. People from different countries can participate. You need to have a PayPal account to get paid. But I think they have another payment method available. Don't remember what that is though.

@Adie04 Wait! If you are thinking of joining they do not accept new members as far as I know. At least I have not seen a sign up button or link anywhere.

Some stuff we used to earn for we don't earn for anymore. Like if we view someone's posts and even leave a comment we no longer earn for those actions.

Sad to see another earning potential gone bad. Maybe they got hit by COVID too and decided to reduce the earning program.

Hmmm... this makes me wonder if them not letting us earn for certain things happened before covid or after it hit.

It is a site where you publish stories, quizzes, polls, lists, gallery of images, etc. and you get the chance to earn. You earn points called virils and at the end of the month if you reach over 200 virils, they get converted into dollars and cents. Once you reach $10 they pay you via PayPal. You earn when others view and comment on your published stuff. And you earn 10 virils for logging in on a certain day. And of course you earn when you publish stuff.
