In international politics, nothing is done purely based on friendship. It's all give and take. I'd say it's better for India to maintain a good rapport with all its allies but also keep them at a distance so that they can't assume that it's their right to interfere in our internal or foreign affairs.

Yes you said correctly. Hear we not possible to trust other countries, they can revock when they needs. That's why we always be prepare to face any thing alone.

@Lakshman15 Exactly my point. We shouldn't put ourselves in a catch 22 situation. Obviously if they're stepping up to provide support, there is some gain for them in it as well. No one is a saint to help unconditionally and it's foolish to expect too. So we must evaluate their intentions also and make the move accordingly.
