I am just wondering what is going to happen to the global economy if things don't start getting better SOON?
A lot of people are living in a very difficult world right now because of the virus that seems to not want to go away.
In my family, we are all okay so far and I hope it is the same for all of you here at MyLot,

My family and I are all staying well so far. I too hope it lasts. My daughter has to worry and I am helping her financially, as she is self employed and this is of course hurting her business.I am retired with although not huge income, it's steady income and I don't have to worry about working. My son and daughter in law work for the government and continue to work at home. My son already worked from home anyway. I worry about my daughter in law's parents catching the virus because they aren't being careful enough about social gatherings. They're senior citizens like me, and you have to be SO careful.
I hope you and you loved ones stay well, too. I sure hope they start sending out more stimulus soon. My daughter and millions of others like her are having such a hard time.

@marlina I think they're crazy not to be more careful. My daughter in law is always worried about them. Her mom already had a stroke a couple of years ago.

The thing we are worried about is food and whether it will start dwindling again in the future. Financially we will be okay, and we can easily go without things if necessary. I know that's not the same for everybody.

@marlina I know a few months ago there were new facebook groups cropping up made by farmers who wanted to connect people directly to the supply chain so that animals did not have to go to waste.

I've been worried for some time now about how this is all going to affect the world economy, and our own local economy. The recent jobs report that was just released here in the US did offer a small glimmer of hope, as millions of new jobs were added in June, a slow start to what I hope is a long recovery.

We are all still fine, I think being " still fine " gives us more time to stock up and prepare incase something more catastrophic falls upon us these coming months.

@marlina I go a bit further than essentials, I try to create a hedge with whatever I can spare that in my mind is inflation and recession proof like small amounts of precious metals, crypto currency and foreign currency whose value is higher than ours in case the world experiences a Venezuela type of financial crisis.
Essentials is very important especially food because prices might double or triple. Good that you always have essentials I'm trying hard to double what we usually store so long as budget permits.

We definitely need to reopen businesses but practice strict social distancing and wear masks. Unfortunately, there are some who will not follow these simple guidelines endangering many others, spreading the virus, and delaying the process of reopening. This places a hardship on small business owners who need to return to work to survive.

Is your country doing anything to help you? Our country, Trump administration pretty much said screw the virus,we do not care. Congress was talking about doing a 2nd stimulus package.I was like I did not get the first one and apparently neither did 35 million Americans. My brother was telling me they thinking of only doing it for businesses and not people because they are not working and they do not deserve any help.
I think maybe they did not need to be elected to congress to to get their 1 to 2 hundred thousand dollar paycheck and all the free health care that everyday Americans will never see. What happened to this country? Its so sad. Over do mortgages are starting to be reported, oh this is when crap hits the fan, when people cannot pay for their place to live is how economy collapsed last time. Thank you government.

I read many multinational companies has closed down. Many stores and fired many of their workers. The OECD has predicted that global economic growth is at a level of minus 6 per cent. I am very lucky to hang on in the hardest situation and we should always think about the future of our health too to survive.
