How I stopped smoking - the story behind

One morning in 2007, I visited my father who had cataract surgery. After sometime I went to the yard to smoke. I felt chest pains that wouldn't go away. It was getting to be unbearable that I fervently prayed. I asked God if I would survive I will quit smoking. That had a strong impact on my mind.
I felt that I was granted a new life when the chest pain vanished. I kept my part of the deal. No withdrawal symptoms whatsoever maybe because of my faith.

Our bodies continually sends us warning signals but some people don't heed it. It's good that you listened through your faith.

It was a call maybe that I should heed. Lucky for me that it was still early to quit.

@kobesbuddy good thing that I was able to quit earlier. My uncle had throat cancer at age 60, I think, after surgery he couldn't speak anymore. He is still alive nearing 90 now.

That's exactly how I felt so I have to do my part of the deal otherwise... it might be the end.

@Alexandoy My husband had a similar experience with smoking. His friends were in a circle, passing a joint around. When it was his turn, Jay refused so it was passed to the next person. Someone asked Jay, 'So did you quit smoking?' His reply was, 'I think I did.' In his heart, he knew it was wrong. From that moment forward, Jay never smoked again.

faith is unbelievable, but it's also very hard to insist. When you're in the fact, there are always something haunting and gnawing your heart, those nameless torture and pain will kill the faith of a man easily

@LadyDuck until now I can still imagine the kind of pain. It was like my chest was heavy and my pulse was fast maybe due to the fear that I was experiencing.
