learn new language?

i have 1 clear vision for the rest of this year. i want to learn 1 language. I chose chinese langugage this year. I have only been able to say a few sentences in Chinese because at home I used to talk to my mother in Chinese. I hope I can be more expert this year. Already download some app, hope it will hellp :) How about you mylotters? how many language do you learn beside your mother tongue language and why you chose that language?

I speak German (my mother tongue) and English, but have picked up a few words in different languages but not enough to be able to converse with anyone.

@iniaku I had to learn English when I came to the US in 1968, but still speak German with my family overseas and german friends over here.

@gr8nana6 yes mother language is a must when we talk to our family.tradition. from 1968?woww sometimes when we are move to a new country we have to be able to master the local language directly

Besides English and Bahasa, I used to study Japanese but I even can't read the written form now although I'm still familiar with a couple of words. I know a bit of Korean - because I used to part of a subbing team. Right now I only understand some of them but i still can read "hangeul"

wowww cool! i know a little korea language because i always watch their KDrama.lol but can't read hangeul though:( i have a friend in Bali who used to have course at japan and he still use the gps navigation using japanese at his car.

i had english, german and italian in school and i also took turkish course and got a certificate, but i forgot a lot of it. i'm studying russian on duolingo, because i thought it's simple because it's similar to my mother language and i want to learn japanese.

wooow amazing learn a lot of language could help us in many ways. improve our cv, make us more confident when traveling to countries that use the language that we learn before

@aureategloom yes. i think english is a basic language. mostly country know it , at least a little bit. i'm a little curious, if i am start learn germany, how we can learn it first. how to write or hear a lot of germany frase first?

I like to study others language, but i m the one who easy to be bored when have difficultes.. hehe. I only mastering the easy language. I improve in in simple communicaton, it is english. But i also like to one film or drama that i always watch, that is drakor

even you can learn korean language by seeing their drama i can translate when my mom watch Kdrama without their subs.hahaha

I know my mother tongue Tamil and business language English. I am interested to learn other languages too. I hope I will learn within this year.
