Fourth of July in the philippines

Philippines
July 5, 2020 3:09am CST
While the US celebrates their Independence Day, here in the Philippines we have the US-philippines friendship day. If we go back on history, it's when the US gave our independence after the world war 2 and helping reestablish the philippine government. We don't celebrate it here. It's not even considered a holiday

@amitkokiladitya always. It' never considered a holiday but just a mention of it. I can't remember when it was last celebrated openly by the government

Was US indirectly ruling Philippines till WWII, or was it more direct? And was that period of influence/ruling good for Philippines or not so good?

We were a colony of the US before we were conquered by the Japaneze. But before the war started, we were already working out on our own independence.

Someone asked if Australia has a 4th of July and one of the best answers I have seen is "yes, it comes right after the 3rd of july and right before the 5th." I think Sydney did (does?) have fireworks on on the 4th of July. I don't celebrate it though.

Oh, but you need to celebrate your freedom, you said that we don't go for it. Any reason my friend. Due to virus this year we don't celebrate this day?

Thanks for sharing. But why don't you celebrate or announced as a holiday?
