Math + Covid + Stupid

Apparently people don't remember History from their school days. Back in 1918; when Science, Medicine and cures were not at the fore-front for information, there was a little thing called the Spanish Flu.
World-wide, 500 million were infected with 50 million deaths. In the US alone, there were 675,000 deaths. As I mentioned, there wasn't technology available to the every day John Doe to help prevent the spread of the Flu.
Today, there is 11.6 million cases of the Covid 19 worldwide and 539,000 deaths. Just in the US, there are 3 million cases and 135,000 deaths......so far and it will be higher if people continue to think, "Oh, it can't happen to me."
Something as simple as WEARING A MASK and SOCIAL DISTANCING could have already dropped those stats. Apparently today people don't care if they kill their family members or friends. After all, the rules don't apply to them; right?
If you think for one second that the Covid won't kill as many as the Spanish Flu did; you are mistaken. And if you think a vaccine is gonna pop out tomorrow, your brain (what there is of it), is in another universe.

I shake my head and don't understand how people can be so ignorant. Sadly I see my own personal friends with this mentality and the nonsense they continue to spew on places like FB. It is no wonder why this virus is not under control .

@nanette64 Right. It's been a real eye opener to realize friends' way of thinking and behaviors . Seriously, we won't be seeing them in person anytime soon.

@nanette64 Omg yes - and what in the world were they thinking . I guess there have been many of these parties . . . wasn't there are "prize" in one of these for whomever gets it first? Such stupidity. They have no idea it could cost them their lives or someone else's life. Big mistake for sure.

And as of yesterday @jaboUK there is 3.9 million cases and 143,600 deaths in the US. That's a heck of an increase from when I wrote this on 7/6. Our country apparently doesn't get it.

@marlina Oh yeah, the bars. In Texas bar owners are suing the government because they had to close AGAIN because of the increase in cases in the BARS!!!!!!! Dumb a**es.

How many people have to die before it dawns on them @JudyEv . I think 135,000 + ought to be a sign.

i hope in due time, the virus will weaken and maybe stay in the air like the flu virus where it can be treated with simple antihistamines or for colds pills.
but here in my country, it is still far from the flattened curve, as the statistics increases everyday.

Absolutely @Butterfingers . In my opinion a full month should go by with absolutely zero new cases before I'd believe we are half-way safe.
