Jeff LaCates pet dog named Roux who is a Belgian Malinois is being called a hero after his dog barked a lot to alert his owner that his next door neighbor's home caught fire.
The incident started on Saturday night in Franklin Tennessee. The three persons living next door were asleep when the fire started.
LaCates went outside after he understood that something was not right and when he saw the fire coming from his next door neighbor, he alerted his next door neighbor to leave the home as soon as possible.
The three occupants next door were able to leave their home with their pets safe and sound.
The Franklin firefighters were able to put out the fire which was caused by fireworks that were outside of the home of the fire victims.
The best part of this story is that the lady who lives next door introduced Roux to live with LaCates about 15 months earlier after LaCates previous dog who was a German Shepherd passed away.

Some dogs are very attentive when it comes to something unusual like a fire or maybe an explosion nearby.

Animals like dogs have a strong instinct to know when there's a danger.
