Out of Commission for Awhile

Hi folks I guess you can say I've been out of commission for way over a month now as we have moved to a new area. My son found a property he wanted with a cute little older house on it and after much looking bought it!
It closed in about 6 weeks so we have been madly packing and cleaning and getting rid of things in our condo so we can move in. He lives full time in New York, New York on a work Visa and wanted to buy something in property for investment and also to give his old mom and dad a new adventure.
So we are his new tenants and the custodians of the place and are now back in the country! It's really only 10 to 15 minutes from towns so not really isolated.
My husband is happier than ever to have grass to cut again and we have space again. We're only about 15 minutes from our daughter and grandchildren.
I'm still unpacking and organizing everything and there's also reno work on the bathrooms being done by a contractor so I'll still be off and on of myLot. If I can ever get my own photos to upload properly to myLot I will post a picture.

Congratulations to you! It's so sweet of your son and so nice to be close to your family! The moving must have been a chore, but that soon passes. I'm so happy for you!
Don't laugh, but our son bought a house in New Jersey. because camps are closed for the kids. It has a lot of things for them to do, but he told us that he wants to move to Toronto! When and why I don't know.

@MarymargII I don't think he will be moving for a long time because of the kids.

ha well at least that's a pretty good reason. Toronto? Really? Will he be able to work there? It would be the opposite of my son who lived in Toronto and then got a great paying job in New York.

Congratulations ! I don't doubt you had been quite busy - it's a lot of work to move out and move in. Ohhhh, how lovely to be in the country . . . Hubby and I often dream and talk about that. And good that you are just a drive away from civilization . Well best of luck getting situated . . . enjoy your new place!!!

@MarymargII I would love that kind of peace! Oh gosh, the yard work would kill us . . . we do some, but not a lot to the yard. I hope it's mostly been a good change though!

I can't believe I missed this post but I have missed seeing you on Mylot, I pray all went well with the renovations and hopefully you're too busy with real world family to bother with Mylot for now. Maybe you'll come back to say hi one day.

Yes it's fun to plan where everything should go-- might even grow a few veggies next year--- with a little fence to keep the wildlife out.

It's a little more in the country than we're used to but it is lovely with lots of birds, squirrels, chipmunks and even deer!

I think you are going to like it there and in these times being outside of higher populated areas could be actually easier with all the restrictions. It used to be the other way around. Either way I hope you do enjoy your new place.
