John Prine, my favorite songwriter of the 20th Century, died of Covid-19 a couple of months ago. Coincidentally (or perhaps not), the last two songs with words I recorded for YouTube were by John Prine.
Here is a song by John Prine I recorded called Hello in There. I recorded it several months ago. It's about old folks and how we should not neglect them. Prine wrote it when he was something like 24-year-old. That's pretty incredible.
I hope you enjoy it. Or are saddened by it. I am honored to have 98 subscribers, and hope to have more by the time I'm old. Or dead. Music with good lyrics never dies. But it always lives slightly in the background.
I hope you will share your thoughts.

Thanks for listening in! John Prine was an incredible songwriter. He lived into his 70s, and I'll say that he lived a good life. I've watched interviews with him, and he was thankful for what he was able to do while he was here. But I am still sad that Covid-19 took him. I'll keep doing his songs until I'm gone as well.

Applause I loved it so sentimental and wonderful. I love that Archie and Edith are included. We all have been so isolated and need to come together again. Now with my anxiety, I feel more alone but never thought about it before much however tonight I am feeling so much better already. I liked and tweeted your song.

“I am an old woman named after my mother” also came out of that 24-year-old. That’s one of the things that made him such an incredible songwriter: how can he write this, then write about the plight of the veteran in “Sam Stone”? At such a young age?
And he only got better.
Oh, and your version? Man, you put a lot of emotion into that!!!

To think that older people could contribute so much to society then all of a sudden they are tossed aside like a used rag. They are full of wisdom and can tell you so many funny stories. Great you are embellishing the elderly through your songs.

@garymarsh6 It can indeed. Playing music at old folks homes is a bitter-sweet experience.

Being in that age group I can appreciate this song so much more. You did a great job; and the visuals were spot on as well.
