Dreams can be weird sometimes

Well, if you are me, they are more weird than normal.
The dream is fading away from me this morning, but I remember enough to explain parts of it to you here.
I was with a friend of mine and we were in what looked like some sort of school. It may have been a set of offices though. Either way, we barricaded ourselves behind a door because we did not want to be seen by a man. The man was tall and average built. He was not overly bulky or muscular, but neither was he lean.
I recall thinking that locking ourselves behind a door would do little to deter the man, but my friend did not seem to have the same worries. She thought he would grow bored and move on. Neither of us were sure exactly what he wanted, but we do believe he was escaping imprisonment. I did not feel as if he would do any harm to us, only that associating with him would lead us into trouble.
We waited in the room for what seemed like hours before my friend thought the coast was most likely clear. I should mention that while we had locked the doors, we had not closed the blinds. We had watched as the day turned into early evening and then into night. Neither of us thought the man would see us from the windows, or rather, we hadn't really thought about it.
This post is getting long, and my dream was quite longer than this. I'll wrap it up by saying that we opened the door to find the man standing with his hands braced on either side of the door jamb. His smile was predatory and smug. I was yanked from the room and pulled down the hall, my friend calling after me, trying to keep pace. The next thing I know, we were out the door and making our way through the woods. It seemed I was destined to go down with him, whatever he had planned I would be an unwilling accomplice to.

@amitkokiladitya Mine are not often scary, just weird. Yours are more scary, aren't they?

Oh no, the dream did continue a bit after that, but I just don't recall it all. I think I managed to get away from him. He was a womanizer, though.

Wow, that is terrifying! I have had dreams where I woke screaming and thrashing. The dream felt so real and I begged my husband to go outside and check the area. In the dream there was someone standing outside the window and raking their fingers on the screen. Then the ran the length of the trailer doing the same. Of course my husband found nothing amiss. Surprised me that he actually went outside to check to ease my mind. That happened about 42 years ago. I didn't remember it until I read this post. LOL

@ScribbledAdNauseum the most terrifying dreams I have ever had involved my children and they were harmed. I couldn't stop it.

@ElusiveButterfly I could not begin to imagine that level of terror. I think the only thing similar to that I have felt is when I dream that I am looking for my mother (she has passed away several years ago now) and I can't find her.

Oh wow! That is very terrifying. I do not blame you for wanting things to be checked before you felt comfortable again. I have had dreams where there is someone in the room with me and I can not move. Those are terrifying

I would feel creepy when I woke up, if I dreamed like that.

Really the only time I feel creepy is when it's a dream where someone is in the room and I can't move. I've had a few of those over the years. Everything else is a cake walk in comparison.

This one came about because of the book I am reading. The guy in my dream looked like what I thought the guy in the book looks like.

Right. It was such a weird dream and there was so much more to it than what I had written. In the dream it really did seem like we were in a building and then suddenly in the middle of a forest.

@Janet357 Yes, I think quite a lot. I am always making up stories in my head as well, something I learned to do from young age whenever I was stressed or anxious.
I think sometimes our dreams are so complex. While asleep we understand them, but in the light of day the dream would make no sense so we forget those parts easier.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Lemme ask you, are you a thinker? I think your mind is very active. Also it means you have a good deep.sleep at night.
It is still a mystery to me how come we easily forget some of the details of our dreams.

Yes, I forget about them eventually, unless they were very strange. I have recurring dreams that I do not forget though.

I don't mind weird dreams because I find them amusing. It's scary ones that I don't like.
