Monday Blues

Actually, since I got laid off I don't have the Monday blues, most of the time I don't know what day it is. Fortunately that has changed since I started doing water aerobics, because I go in the mornings from Monday to Friday and then in the evenings (weather permitting) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and then last week, the most exciting part of all, I started volunteering at the Genealogy library again, but this time only one volunteer allowed at a time. I miss the other volunteers, but I do get to see a couple of the employees who are super nice. So why the Monday blues? Because we install an air conditioner in the living room yesterday (yes, we only had a/c in the bedrooms) and I think my husband had it too cold yesterday that I was freezing and I woke up with a horrible headache. I think very few here know that I will only take something for headaches after I have tried other methods (my favorite, sleeping it off or a hot shower) and that I rarely get sick. I am blessed to have a strong immune system and if I feel like I am going to get sick, I have natural remedies that 9 times out of 10 works. This morning, nothing worked, so I didn't go to water aerobics and I slept until 1 (that is really rare, I am usually up and going by 8 at the latest). So I took some Aspirin (believe it or not, ibuprofen gives me a headache, yet is the first thing people tel me to take) and now my headache is a faded memory. I feel like I lost a large part of this day though, because I finally did what I said and started editing my novel. I got the prologue edited and had started on the first chapter, so it is a step by step, progress. So, how was your Monday? I hope it was at least productive.

Like you, we like to try natural things first. Something in a pill form is the last thing we want. Glad you were able to get that headache under control.

I've had a touch of ennui today, but finally posted a post here and played some guitar.

I admit, I had to look up the word, " ennui " which according to merriam-webster. is French for "a feeling of weariness and dissatisfaction" (I love learning new words) and I can see how playing the guitar can help. I love music, but I can't play an instrument or sing, but I dance and that always helps me.

Volunteering at a genealogy library sounds neat. You should write a post about what a day there is like. I’m very curious and you don’t post nearly often enough!

@Carmelanirel2 that’s an interesting drive in for sure. Never heard of such a thing. How neat the woman wrote in a journal her entire life and they have all that in record. So cool your husband was mentioned .

@shaggin You never heard of a drive-in theater? I don't know how old you are, but if you ask an older friend, I am sure he po0r she can tell you where the local drive in was.

I noticed that when I set the temperature higher, I don't get headaches. Are you using a different browser and is it working better for you?

@Carmelanirel2 That happens if you do not have a job to go to and you are at home you can forget the days because you do not have to get up to go to work. Sounds like you have a full schedule since you got laid off. I am glad you do not get sick, and can understand why you would get a headache from the cold coming from the AC. I am so glad you got the sleep and whatever you took got rid of your headache. What kind of novel are you writing? I had to go to your profile to see how long you have been here. I wonder why I have not come across you before. I have been here 4 years. I saw that you have an associated degree in Creative writing. I was very impressed. I was very much interested in that at one time in my life, but, not now. I wrote one book and completed it and needed help to make it good. It was very expensive to write it and also did not sell very well and I thought it was a cute book. It was called Mitzi and the Talklng Door. Mitzi was my cat I had before my present one.

Hi fellow writer. Yes, I have been here a while and this is my second account because there were issues with my first one. My genre is romance/suspense/inspirational and that is my issue too, I can write the book, but the problem is editing, even with my degree it's difficult because I am too close to my story to be bias. That's why I am going to edit the first 2-3 chapters (which is easier than editing 80,000 words)and hope an agent finds me on Twitter during PitMad

You have always seemed very proactive when it comes to your health. All I did today was go to the grocery store, and walk the dogs. It's so hot I don't want to step outside.

Have you not gotten a break from the heat? We had about a 4-5 day break, but the heat is coming back later this week.

@Carmelanirel2 No, it's here and fierce. Even when it was ninety the heat index was in the 100s. There hasn't been a break in awhile.

You continue to go to water aerobics? My class shut down at the start of the Pandemic. If it were to open tomorrow, I would not go cause of my fear of getting ill. I sure can feel the difference in me cause I am not working out in the water, though.

Since it is in a pool with chlorine and I am not on top of \anyone, I seriously doubt there would be a problem. However, one woman there does wear a shield.

@sallypup That's fine, but besides the chlorine, the sunshine is a natural immune booster.

@Carmelanirel2 Chlorine does not cut it for me. I still have huge doubts. I don't think the motel pool that I used before the Pandemic will be opening until maybe next year.
