We have a heavy downpours and suddenly we hear a big bang coming from the sky. Then the light went out. Is lightning responsible for the outage of power?

Sometimes it hits a transformer. Sometimes a tree falls on the power lines. I hope your power returns soon.

Possibly. Wind, lightning, rain, many things could be the reason. The only thing to worry about is hoping the power will come back on soon.

Was the power outage long hours? Yes, sometimes, the storm or typhoon is the reason for a power outage.

It's good if it takes a few minutes.

@Nakitakona Yes but other times power lines go down from the storms and have to be repaired.
