Sugar palm or Gomuti palm

Aren, Arengga, sugar palm or Gomuti palm is the most important palm after coconut because it is a multipurpose plant. It can reach 25 meter high afther 7 years. And the best thing from this tree is, we can produce Red palm sugar/jaggery from it. The fruit, kolang-kaling, is also a good fruit for making many cuisine.

@nawala123 In my area kolak usually pops out near or during great festive like Ramadhan, so it's not common here.

it is tropical tree, only in south and south eastern asia. in germany it is zuckerpalme

Is the fruit of that palm white and nice to eat when cooked in a sweet syrup? That may be the kaong that we have.
