I think it's fair that we get paid for doing our good work on our time. If people didn't get paid, then everyone would be out trying to find a means to feed, clothe, and house themselves. By paying people to do the work, it keeps them working there instead of looking elsewhere. Afterall, the primary reason why people do any kind of labor is so that they can eat.
