Self-imposed Retreat

I was out for a while. I needed a retreat. A self-imposed one. The pandemia caught up with me. Not the illness. The cabin fever. The news was mind-boggling, people over bearing. I simply got sick of it all and decided to distance my self from the hourly horror dampening to the spirit. Here's wishing sanity for everyone.

Thank you. That is the correct thing to do. However, all my siblings are in California. Many family and friends, too, scattered all over the United States, including Florida and Texas. I had to tune in. Hu hu.

True, it’s important that we don’t let ourselves become overwhelmed with all the bad news, but at the same time we do need to stay informed

@Calebxy Rely on your relatives to give you updates regarding the pandemic and local news in your region. The news media tend to overblown things.

Thank you. That is such a warm welcome! Am afraid I was on solitary confinement for a fortnight. My daughter was on straight duty the whole two weeks. The hospital was on full capacity. Hu Hu. She gets her break on Sunday. But I was in constant communication with my elder daughter who is in London. Her nose poked on her dissertation. I simply needed a rehashing of the basics. A recollection.

@eileenleyva Hospitals being on full capacity isn't a good news but I'm glad that all you guys are safe and sound. What kind of topic is the dissertation on?

I understand. At the meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses that I go to, we were advised to watch the news enough to stay informed, but not watch it too much that it just makes us overwhelmed with anxiety.

Probably good advisement, and netflix adds new titles for viewing. Might work for young people. And since I am old, I believe I couldn't just turn into a couch potato with all the horrible news unfolding.

@Calebxy To take away the ennui. Frankly though, the movies are not in sync with the pandemia. But will force my self to watch an old action flick later.

@eileenleyva Yes that’s true, it’s good to have some nice things to watch during the lockdown.
