Past, Present, Future

Being in Christ, it is safe to forget the past; it is possible to be sure of the future; it is possible to be diligent in the present. ~~ Alexander MacLaren Sometimes, it's challenging to let go of the past. The hurt, pain, guilt and regret tends to attack long after the event has happened. C.S. Lewis wrote, “If God forgives us we must forgive ourselves," but I know from experience this may prove a very difficult goal to achieve. The wonderful news is that through Jesus Christ the extreme clutter is forgiven and forgotten. On the other end of the spectrum is the future--worry and anxiety can take moments away from our lives and that's just a waste of time and happiness. Jesus said, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?" Actually living in the present without all the thoughts of the past or the future is wonderful, though one has to work earnestly to achieve this objective (for me anyway) or those wasted moments fade away into insignificant days. pixabay

That quote from Jesus is definitely true, worrying about something that might happen in the future won’t change anything, and it will only rob you of joy right now

@misunderstood_zombie Indeed. On the other hand, focusing on what we do have right now is one way of making sure we stay happy

You hear that 'God knows the exact lineup of the timeline'; I disagree. I think 'eternity' (the one we say we want to spend with God in Heaven), means 'all time'---not "all the time after our Spirit is released from the Earth," but 'all the time before-then & now & before-now. When we live with God, we become aware that ... we are only 'separated from God' because we don't know God's with us kinda like when your friend is in the room with you, but you don't even acknowledge that they're there and trying to talk to you (like they're deaf & you're not looking their way to see them speaking their sign-language)
