Why KAREN ? WHy not Stephanie? WHy not Betty? Why not Jane?

Lately, there had been incidences involving women and their misbehavior and they are called Karen. Have you ever wondered why Karen? Why not Betty? Why not Stephanie? Why not Vivian? What is so special about the name Karen that it's used on misbehaving women ? What they are doing in public causes mostly negative feelings. The latest is a Karen Bikini or is it Bikini Karen. You look up in youtube and you'll see alot of these women there. But really, why Karen ?

I don’t know why. I’ve known some sweet kind people named Karen.The-meanest person I ever met had the name Nellie.

I think it’s partly due to the fact that Karen is a stereotypical name for a middle-aged quite woman. You wouldn’t find many young women these days called Karen, so that name is quite a specific fit for the stereotype

Or, if they do have that name, it’s spelled with a C or a Y (Carin, Karyn), or some other variation from the traditional spelling.
