My country is very big and therefore actually everywhere can be quite different. For example, in my city we don't have to buy a lot of food each time since we pay attention to the fresh much more. Such as it is fine for us to buy one or two tomatoes, a few pieces of eggs, a little part of meat etc. The sellers won't mind it at all. Actually they will also help you to peel the skins from potatoes, pumpkin etc. They can also peel the corns for you. If you don't know how to cook, they will also recommend you how to use the right ingredients to cook it. Whereas I heard in the north cities, you have to buy a big bag of cabbages, a whole ribs etc. It will drive us so crazy if we buy so many since we don't have room to store it.

it's the same here. you can go to the wet market every day to buy only the ingredients you need to cook for that day. if you only need half a kilo of chicken, a piece of ginger and some vegetables, you can buy just the amount you need. it's the same way with what we call sari-sari store. you can buy 1 envelope, 1 sachet of detergent, 1 egg and 1 bottle of softdrink if that's all you need.

Mostly here we can buy as much or as little as we like. Some things are done up in big packages though.

@youless We have what we call 'farmers' markets' but you can buy small quantities in our supermarkets as well.

When I lived in France we had wet markets and we could buy very little quantities. I went shopping every day here. No wet markets here, only grocery stores and supermarkets.

I especially like to go to the wet market to buy the vegetables since they are fresher than the supermarket's vegetables.

Our wet market vendors dislike patrons touching, feeling, pinching, sorting out veggies or anything that they sell

Actually here if we buy a lot of food, it may be a little strange. Since in these days I buy more food so that I don't have to go to the market often, it seems I already become to be a "VIP"

i dont like buying many fruits and veggies because you cannot store them for long. meats, toiletries, fish and dry goods, and cleaning supplies, we buy in bulks.

I feel the same. But I already try to buy more because of the coronavirus. I try to go out less.
