2020 - What's next?

It has been an extraordinary year. I have been absent from most social media for a very long time. I feel like this experience has made me especially more introverted. I'm not necessarily an introvert, but my agoraphobia has extended past the walls of my home. I go out, seldom, but it is a necessity for food and supplies. My poor kids almost never leave the house, and I know it doesn't really bother me because I feel very safe at home. However, I know the kids just want to get out and play. Go to the park, Chuck E. Cheese, etc. Yesterday we were told that the 2020/2021 school year would be entirely online and I about jumped for joy. No getting up at the crack of dawn to catch a bus, no getting in trouble at school, or ridiculous attendance meetings when my kids are sick and miss a few days of school. I know critics argue that our immune systems will weaken from social distancing, but this is all just temporary. Other countries have seen the other side of this and are doing well. We just have to weather this storm until infection rates go down and COVID-19 is at least a little more controlled. You may not agree with me, and that is ok. I don't like to argue with people who don't see the world from my point of view. In fact, I think that is the one main thing that divides us all is perspective. We all see things differently, so I listen, I share, and sometimes I change my mind. Sometimes, I change others. It doesn't really matter as long as we are still listening to each other and not screaming from the top of our lungs, so loudly that no one can even tell what we are saying. I watched a documentary about Ruth Bader Ginsburg the other day. She isn't a screamer, but she managed to change the world with her words. I never knew that women (and men) wouldn't have some of the rights and protections in the law we do without her voice. It's a calm, rational voice. I like that. I hope you are all well my friends! I have missed writing and reading here, but my life has been so hectic (I'm sure yours has as well) and I haven't had any "me" time.

I'm glad you're managing and you are one of the sensible ones staying home and staying safe. Good for you.

It's a bigger problem and impacted most of us. Hope things get better soon. Take care
