I'm frugal. Is that necessarily a bad thing??

Okay everyone. I am in need of your opinions and I hope that this post doesn’t come off the wrong way. I am a frugal person. I have been all of my life. If it’s something I really don’t need, I don’t buy it. Now, if it’s something for one of the kids, depending on what it is, I don’t think too much on it. My nephew wants a new DVD, okay within reason as long as he doesnt already have a copy. My nephew needed a new winter coat and the only one in his size was $50. No hesitation. I need new pants because I have a hole in my favorite pair but I can’t seem to bring myself to buy another pair because they are $20 each. I guess that was my way of saying that if it’s something for my daughter or nephew, I have no problem spending $50 or more on them but I have a very hard time spending money on myself. And honestly, it’s not like I don’t have it. I still have the stimulus money sitting in the bank. My dilemma: I’ve been thinking about getting an Apple Ipad for awhile now. Well over a year and then I told myself that I would either wait for my birthday (sept 23) or wait for black friday to see if they would happen to have any good deals on one. Well, walmart is not doing black friday this year so that means no black friday deal. I haven’t heard if walmart will be doing an online black friday but I doubt it. As of right now, the Ipads at walmart are $340. Not sure about other places but I will be checking to see which place has the best price. I know that if I get an Ipad to use then my phone’s battery will last longer and as long as I get a case for it, I could let my nephew use it. I had an android tablet with a keyboard a year or so ago but I didn’t end up liking it. It wasn’t as fast as it was supposed to be, got hot very quickly and I couldn’t get alot of the same games as I could with my phone. Well, thank you for reading my whole post. I hope it made some sense and if anyone has any opinions, I would love to hear them. Hope you all are well!!

I like frugal people. They are the ones who are afraid of debts.

I am frugal too but it depends on my posibilities. I bought a tablet for myself after the COVID started to have a new toy. And I am thiking about buying a big puzzle to play. I gave away to my daughters most of my towels. I need 2 of each size. Frugal? I love it.

I like being frugal too because then I have money to do things like treat my family to lunch or take them all to the movies. Can't really do that right now but thankfully, things are starting to open back up. I recently went out and bought shirts and other supplies for 5 little "neighbor" kids and a few other people so that we can all have a tye dye day. My nephew is obsessed with tye dye and said he needs more tank tops cuz he doesnt have enough to wear two a day so he will be tye dying 6 more tank tops. I spent probably $50 on all that without even really thinking about it lol

@CountryGirl31 I do spend money in a couple of luxuries and feel that those are what give meaning to my life.

Thank you. I guess I need to learn not to feel guilty when I do something for myself but it's hard.
