I can't imagine being a parent today of a scool age child and having to deal with Covid! I don?'t know what i would do. Most have to work..and yet they have to home school as well. It is a terribly tough choice to make. I guess hoping for some kind of modified schedule on both ends is all you could hope fir. I would probably be too afraid to just send them back even. Ifuf the dustrict was open It is a real dilemma.

I know I can't imagine having to deal with this insanity if I had a child in school. Some of these parents are single parents as well..gulp!!!

I was thinking the same thing. My heart goes out to all the parents who have school-aged children, who will be forced to make a choice between staying home with their children or going back to work. Many school districts are offering online only school curriculum, but some are making the kids go back to school. Either way, as a parent of young children, I'd be concerned. If you choose the online curriculum, who will stay home with the child? If you choose the in-school option, you run the risk of getting COVID. No easy choices here. My son is a senior this year, and he has chosen to do the online curriculum at his high school. But he is a really good kid, gets good grades in school, and can be trusted to be by himself at home during the day to complete his classwork. So thankfully I don't have to worry too much about him. But other parents aren't so lucky.

Yes, with older kids it isn't as much of a stress really I don't think, unless they can't get ahold of their teachers or something...or aren't getting something. However, I am sure help can be made available.

@snowy22315 Well, some teens can't be trusted, either they don't have the self-discipline to do their work, or they want to get out of the house and get into trouble. So it's kind of a double-edged sword, even with teens.

It is a huge dilemma. I am so glad I'm not trying to bring up children at the moment.

I would have homeschooled my kid(s) if we had any. I understand not everyone can choose that path. I do feel the ones who have to make new choices about their kids education.
