Jobless

Does it troubles you being jobless this pandemic? I would really say, yes I am. This may triggers anxiety but I guess we need to stay positive to survive. This is just a challenge right? Thus, it will make us a better person in the end. How about you guys?

No one wished for this but now that it is here we all need to adjust our thinking? It is difficult to ignore. What pandemic? Is there a pandemic? My worry is will it ever be over. At the very least if it is declared as over how long will the effects of it be over? Worry and anxiety doesn't make it better. There are some who have said that anxiety directly or indirectly can actually lower our resistance to disease. I've have not been too severely affected as I was already retired before this occurred but being jobless is a serious threat to our well being. Even in retirement it is a challenge. How can we be/do better? Good question.

@Damon31 I wish I had all the answers. Don't still learning still looking. I think you are right. We can look for solutions or even reactions to situations and hurry to something that is not within our normal conduct. That is when we might question our values? Something bad happens and it also human nature to want to assess blame. I see people doing a lot of that on the news.

Thanks.. Guess this is where we can test the morality of a person.. On how he was able to stand despite of the given situations.

@Damon31 Some will look at it as a test or challenge not having a job during this crisis and others may be depressed. I guess it depends on how you look at it. If you have not other means to get things you need then it is very hard. If you believe it will all work out then hopefully it will. Who is the beautiful cat in the picture?

I also think this is a joint test, always think positively and believe that every time there is a way out of trouble.

Hello and welcome to MyLot :) I am in the situation that I am working Freelance, thus I am self-employed. The Pandemic has indeed changed the amount of incoming work that I receive. In fact, I think I've earned close to 60% less this year to date, than I had last year until this day. So yes, it is also a challenging situation for me. Honestly, this situation has made me start looking for outside employment, as that might seem like a more secure income. There are some sectors where employees are always needed - maybe time to even reeducate myself?
