Development over Environment

For decades now, we have prioritised development over environment and the repercussions are now looming on us and generations to come.
Despite great efforts by various organisations, the environmental issues remain second fiddle, "Deforestation", being one of them.
I recently read an article that talks about what amount of manual efforts are needed to regrow a forest, let alone the cost of reviving it.
Our governments, on the contrary, think that by merely planting trees, their job is done. They undermine the fact that a sapling needs as much care as a new born baby and if not provided, the fate for both would be the same, doom!
Be it ecological balance, biodiversity, fertile soil, variety of food, clothes or materials or fresh air, we, for all of it, are dependent on trees. This is no rocket science talked above, nothing that we haven't heard before but I think it's high time the government made some sincere efforts in this regard, mere rhetorical speeches would no more suffice.

Yes I agree with you Ishani and it's high time the Government need to take drastic steps and we should do our bit too.

Exactly Raj.. Every bit counts.. Everything is correlated..if we stop using plastic.. the manufacturing would ultimately stop.. If we inculcate the habit of treating environment with respect.. the people around and the younger ones would do the same.. and talking about the government as usual it needs to be pressurised so that it shifts it attention towards nature too..
