Help--I've fallen and I can't get up!

That was me yesterday when I was preparing dinner, I was frying up hamburger patties to make salisbury steaks and I needed the splatter screen which was in the bottom cabinet of course. I was sitting in my desk chair because my back hurts when I stand too long, so as I was reaching down to get the splatter screen the chair moved away and I plopped on the floor.
Daughter came running when she heard me hit the floor and tried to help me up to no avail, since the knee replacement I can't get on my knees because it hurts like the dickens. So she called my son in law who was taking a nap to help her. It took both of them to grab me under the arms from behind to pick me up, how embarrassing.
Long story short, every bone in my body is hurting like crazy today and I won't be able to stay up too much because I am taking my pain pills which make me real tired. I will try to do as much as I can though reading your stuff and taking care of notifications.
I hope you have a great day, evening or night!

I'm so sorry you fell. That's my fear as well. I can't get up on my knees because I have one replacement knee; and the other one needs to be replaced. I keep thinking that the fire department would have to come to get me off the floor! :-)

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that you fell and are in pain today. Good thing your daughter and son in law were there to help you up. Embarrassing or not it was good you didn't get seriously hurt.

You poor dear. Knees and backs are sometimes the worst things to endure. I have bad knees so I have had too many scares- once I went down in the driveway. It took my husband and I over twenty minutes figuring how we would get me up. We were on the verge of calling paramedics but we live about twenty minutes out of town. I just can't stand the pain of kneeling on my knees so if I go down, I am in big, big trouble. I hope you start to feel better soon.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I live in fear of falling since I did and broke my foot couple yrs back and it took a lot to get me back on my feet Hope neither of us go through that again
I always fear I will lay somewhere for hours and no one will hear me or be around

@bunnybon7 I know, that fear lingers with me too, especially if I should fall in the shower.

That is exactly the reason I don't want knee replacements, my own knees hurt if I kneel on them but I can bear it. It is awful to need someone to help you get up.

@gr8nana6 Its not something a daughter wants to see. But sometimes is necessary.

I'm sorry that you fell, and I hope you will be okay once the aches and pains go away. I'm praying that you did not injure yourself in any way.

Guess I'll find out down the road. I didn't have any signs of being badly injured when I fell off my deck several years ago. Didn't show any signs of injury only severe bruising until several months later when we found out about my torn ACL and Meniscus and I ended up having a knee replacement.
Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful weekend.

@gr8nana6 I had a torn meniscus and MCL last year and had to have surgery on my knee. My surgeon said that I was eventually going to need a knee replacement, but he wanted to try and wait at least 10 more years since he considers me too young right now for a replacement. So far my knee is holding up well.

I am so sorry that you fell. That had to hurt. I can't be on my knees either but I haven't had a knee replacement. I have fallen so many times and hurt my knees. The last time, my knees swelled up so bad and hurt for days. I probably should have gone to the doctor but I didn't. I'm glad your daughter and son-in-law were there to help you. I hope you are feeling better today.
