Isaias--Hurricane, tropical storm or just a rainy day?

It started last Monday showing the path of a new storm coming directly at Fort Lauderdale. By Friday the path had veered to the west so it looked like we just might get the outer bands of a hurricane. On Saturday it was declared Tropical Storm Isaias and there could be high winds and heavy rain but when to expect all that was constantly being moved.
We had somewhat heavy winds and now and then patches of rain but nothing we haven't seen on a regular day during the rainy season. I believe I may have heard some heavy rain overnight but the parking lot didn't show that and though we had a few drizzles today we had a lot more brightness if not more sun.
At 4 PM I took the 3 pictures with the smileys and we all know that Larry and Lenny the lizards wouldn't be out if bad weather was brewing!! There are a family with baby lizards but those little ones are so fast I haven't been able to get a picture of them---yet!
In any case, it is hurricane season and a lot is happening out in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the US so don't know what the next 4 months will bring. Stayed tuned!

Up here in north Florida it's been a beautiful sunny (but hot) day. Only two or three times all day did we get a passing shower from the outer bands of the storm. They lasted anywhere from about 10 seconds to 2 minutes. I think if we get any rain at all, it will be later tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'm thinking we may not even get any significant rain at all.

I think you are supposed to be getting it as I type this!! We are getting a couple of outer bands but no more than we would get during a normal rain.
Be careful--you never know with storms!

I think its like scientists who find stars who ever discovers it gets to name it. Hurricanes are interesting because supposed to boy girl, boy girl or heard something like that. I am actually curious about that myself, sure someone will come on and correct us of our mis information ways.

So far we have been pretty lucky here in Fort Lauderdale over the past 11 years---not that we are keeping score!!!

I get supplies at the beginning of each hurricane season and, so far, in the past 11 years had only one storm that affected me but that was more of an inconvenience--no electricity for a week--so I'm not complaining!

At my brother's at the beach in St Augustine, he called it a "nothing burger" but it appears it could cause a little trouble in the Carolinas.

@BelleStarr That's no good! With all the technology we always seem to have a problem with electricity!

It’s peculiar because none of the TV stations went to that wall-to-wall coverage of theirs. I don’t know if they’ve finally learned that “let’s go to our reporter on the beach, it’s windy and raining here, back to you” isn’t very good “coverage” or what, but.....

@GreatMartin I just don't like those fast moments. That's why mice scare me too.

We could use the rain here in Maine. But I hope we don't get damaging winds here in the Pine Tree State from this storm.

Everyone kept bugging me about hurricanes and after 3 years here I have learned not to worry. The house is still standing and I have seen nothing bad happen and I have too many other things to worry about without scaring myself about all those hurricanes.

According to the employees who work at the Weather Channel around the month of August and September is the peak season of hurricanes in the Atlantic.

There is another storm about 45 miles east of us--it is that time of the year--I have supplies for the season so I don't worry about that!
