Injured Shoulder

At the end of May, I injured my shoulder decently. ;Was at a gas station during a drive-by shooting and got hurt as I dived to the ground) Physical therapy didn’t work out well, so I’m trying to let it heal with rest. It was doing good until I tweaked it carrying something this past week! Now I’m back on pain medication and muscle relaxers. They are helping but have the bad side effect of making me very sleepy. I literally passed out for about half an hour just before dinner - one moment I was awake and then BOOM, woke up half an hour later. Between the sleepiness and trying not to use my left arm for anything, it’s made life very unproductive. I’m really hoping it heals soon!

Dang, get well, St. Louis is no joke in some parts, many think this a quiet little city, h, the streets are rough in many parts. I think heat is about the only thing that is going to help that.t Its not out of place or anything is it ?

Yep - I live 10 minutes north of the city limits in one of the parts considered ‘bad’. Despite that, the drive by was an almost unheard of incident! No it’s not dislocated. The doctor thinks I have a minor rotator cuff tear. Luckily that can heal without surgery.

@Lolaze OK that sounds like something I may have had. When I was 16 my shoulder just went out of whack think it was from throwing baseballs,. I had to walk around with my left arm on right shoulder. I do not know why, made it feel better and also so I would not move it because could tell something out of whack. I never did see a doctor and eventually did just go away. Its still not right compared to my left shoulder another reason almost did not get into the marines but it does not hurt or anything just deformed a bit I guess.

@crossbones27 I had a bad injury to this shoulder in a car wreck almost 15 years ago, so it’s a weak spot

I'm really sorry to hear this. I just can't imagine living somewhere where there might be drive-by shootings. I hope your shoulder starts to heal soon.

Wish you a speedy and full recovery. Despite it all, we thank God that you actually survived a drive-by shooting. Some people are not so lucky.

Get well soon. Early this year I also happened to have sprained shoulder and almost can't get up from bed.
