Time for a massage! But first, time for another song that is half a century old. We older folks joke about how our music was better. Today’s song pretty much will prove it. Here’s a song from 1970 that you dang well know. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel See you tomorrow. The only thing I have to explain is why this didn’t make the top ten. Simple: there wasn’t any room for it. One of the greatest songs in American popular music. Period. The absolute perfect marriage of gorgeous, almost spiritual lyrics from Paul Simon and one of the best vocal performances from anyone, courtesy of Art Garfunkel. We’ve been listening to this for 50 years. And people will still be listening to it in another 50 years. Bridge Over Troubled Water Written by Paul Simon Recorded by Simon & Garfunkel From Bridge Over Troubled Water, 1970 I’m sailing right behind:

I totally agree. I love this song. Is this the song they have a new version to that is totally messed up? Or is it another of Simon and Garfunkel's songs. Never mind, it's Sounds of Silence. I just remembered.

I’ve seen video of Paul Simon trying to sing this in recent years. It isn’t pretty.

@FourWalls I'm sorry it wasn't pretty. It's sad when artists can't perform like they used to.

I went to a small private Christian school as a child. The school had grades K-8th grade. For our 8th grade graduation, this was our class song. I remember practicing for months so our class would get the song just right when we sang it in church during our graduation ceremony. So this song has special meaning to me, not to mention it's a great song already!

A terrific song with Garfunkel's melodic voice providing the perfect counterpoint to gospel sounding lyrics by Simon. A classic tune with universal appeal!
