Entertainment in the past and now

In the past I used to listen to the radio and record my favorite songs on cassette tapes. I waited for the song I was interested in and I ran to the stereo when the song started because I wanted to record the song from the beginning.
I also borrowed CDs at the library and listened to them in my home. Most of the time the CDs had been used so many times that some of the songs didn't work. Sometimes I borrowed the CD because of one particular song and when I tried to play that song, it was the only song that didn't work
Today things are so much easier. I just go to YouTube or Spotify and type the name of the song I want to listen to, and it is also much easier to discover new songs.
In the past I watched movies on tv. I had to choose between two movies if they both started at the same time, because I was only able to watch one channel at a time. When I got my first VCR I was able to watch one movie and record the other one.
I also rented movies sometimes. I had to go to Blockbuster in order to pick up the movie, and I had to remember to return it on time if I wanted to avoid a fine.
Sometimes I went to the store on a cold and rainy night and when I got back to my home I was excited to watch a new movie. If it was less interesting than I expected I watched it anyway. After all I paid for it and spent time on picking it up Today I open the search box on Netflix and find something different if I don't like the movie.
Children and teenagers of today take easy access to entertainment for granted. I don't listen cassette tapes anymore, but I still have a few. When my friend's daughter saw one of my cassette tapes her reaction was: "What is that?" Maybe she was wondering how I was going to plug it into the computer

Yes, I still remember how excited I was when my father bought me my first walkman. I was able to listen to my favorite music when I was away from my home and I really liked that. Today things are much easier, and we can listen to music without carrying a walkman that takes up up most of the space in our bag

@Porcospino And now kids don't know what a cassette tape is. So many changes and not in that many years.

In my early childhood we also had one channel, but I think it started in the morning. We never disagreed about which channel to watch, it was DR (name of the channel) or nothing at all. Later we got 3 German channels as well.
