August 4 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was another good day.
I'm thankful I'm getting used to my left eye. It's back to normal as in no longer cloudy. I tried to go out for a walk, but the bright day hurt too much to take a walk. As I get used to my eyes, I know it will get better and I'll be walking again.
I'm thankful my appointment went super fast, for about two minutes. They did a pressure test that was very good.
I'm thankful for the groceries I got right after the appointment. I now have bananas and turkey bacon. I almost didn't know what to have for breakfast this morning.
I'm finished with the notifications and it's time for Writer's Guild. I will see you tomorrow.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Did you get cataract surgery? I was surprised when I could use my eye. The colors around me were amazing. I just kept looking at things like I never saw them before. I am thankful for my house and food in the cupboard and devices to cook them on.

Yes. I'm still getting used to the light in my kitchen. It's very bright. Even in the office, it feels brighter than before. Tomorrow I have my other eye done and Friday I'll have the followup on that eye. I have my final followup on the 25th. I'm guessing it will be a complete eye exam. Then I'll know what I'll do for glasses. I know I'll need them because of the astigmatism.
I'm glad you're thankful for your home and food.

@markgichuhi Thank you. My left eye is doing well, so I expect the right won't take long to heal.

Nice to hear that your eye is okay now after the cataract surgery. I hope I wouldn't undergo that surgery.

@just4him is cataract a common condition? My father had a cataract surgery when he was 75, I think but my mother did not have that.

Yes, I have. I still have floaters. They said those won't go away. However, everything is brighter. Right now the brightness hurts my eye a bit. It's going to take getting used to. Tomorrow I have the other eye done. It's going to take a few days to get used to the new colors and brightness of everything. I'll need a new eye exam and I think that's the final followup at the end of the month. I expect my glasses won't be as strong as they are now. I'll still need glasses due to the astigmatism. Otherwise, they said I wouldn't need them anymore. It's a new bright world and I'm loving it as I get used to it.
The meeting went well. Though I wasn't prepared. I forgot about the assignment and didn't prepare anything to read. Though, I did give input for those who read.

I am thankful for the results I got today when I went to check on signing with United Healtcare to get Medicare advantage through them and they worked with me to contact Social security and I qualify for free medicade and with United Healthcare I paid nothing and will get 100% coverage plus 285 every 3 months on a card to get over the counter healthcare. Plus Monday I have a phone appointment with Social Security and because what they are paying now I should qualify to also get SSI (about 160 plus) each month on top of Social Security. God is so good.

I have United Healthcare Advantage and enjoy those same benefits. I'm very happy for you. That's wonderful you will qualify for SSI also. Yes, God is good all the time.

I decided not to walk today. It is just wiping me out and I am not losing any weight. But early this evening I watched a youtube video of a couple that I always watch. They are dumpster divers and during COVID have been doing trivia videos. Today they went for a walk and mentioned the benefits of walking for 30 minutes a day. That got me on the treadmill at 7:30 at night. I swore I was only going to walk 30 minutes but... I walked for an hour. Unless I get on there at night tomorrow night, I probably won't walk tomorrow because I have groceries to do.

@just4him I have been watching what I'm eating. I blame it on post-menopause. Yes, I went for a blood test and to do groceries but am barely over 3,000 steps. I'm just too tired today. Bad sleep doesn't help with weight loss either.

Actually today I am thankful this day has come to an end. It must be the sadness of the month of August but unfortunately, some anxiety surprised me and I am fighting against it so it was a tiring day.

Glad your eye test went well. That is something special to be thankful for. Improved health can really make for a great day. I am thankful my recent bloodwork results were very good. They were improved a lot from last time!
