Am I the only one that feels this way?

Talk about trivia. So the rules say you can't use capital letters. It is shouting.
I don't see it this way and never have. Though I can look at something which has been written with all capital letters and think it doesn't look right. Why did the person do that. Cap locks key was on?
Some person way back when the only thing that existed was text on the internet made up some a convention for everyone else to follow and it stuck.

Try writing a post with all caps on and watch it get deleted. But it isn't a rule it is term called of use.

What rules where?
1) myLot has Guidelines (and Terms of Use), not 'rules'.
2) The Guidelines only say:"[...behavior that is never tolerated] ... Using all-caps, excessive punctuation, or "text speak"". I don't see any mention of shouting there!
Nevertheless, 'all caps' is difficult to read and is considered 'shouting' by long convention - not invented by anyone, that I know of: it just grew - in any forum, text messaging or social media site which you care to use. If you don't see it that way, you really need to get your act together. "When in Rome," as they say, "do as the Romans"!
Of course, if you DO happen to be in 1st Century Rome, you WOULD be using what we call 'capital letters' (and you would also have no 'U' or 'J' because they hadn't been invented).
QVOD ERAT DEMONSTRANDVM.

Not "Using all-caps, excessive punctuation, or "text speak" here is any problem.
Good sense, thank you for the comment. Might well be correct that conventions may not have an origin but developed out of usage and then adopted.

Yes but somehow we are required to use Capital letters when we are writing our names or when we are using short forms.

Very true the opposite is practiced as well. The use of good grammar requires a single capital at the beginning of sentence and ending with a punctuation.
