Those cook contests. JEEEZZZ!!!

I am so bored some days that I end up in cook contests. I have seen thousand ways of doing cupcakes. I still think that the best are those I was taught to make with blueberries inside.
The cook shows I despise most are those contests where little kids are the contestants. I am not sure if they end up winning $10.000 or $100.000. It really doesn´t matter.
What really pisses me is how they put incredible delicious food in plates. A piece of perfectly cooked meat over another (the same size), a delicate side of 2 different things, a parsil leaf over it. A beautiful bit of sauce just for the color.
I have been cooking for 75 years and those 8 year old brats do it better than me. And they still have enough time to play with their tablets and Nintendos.

I love cooking. But I did not learn the beauty. As for cakes, I make a really beautiful cake for one of my girls on her birthday. It took me a long time and I needed help.

@marguicha I'm sure she appreciates it.
The only thing I don't do is cake decoration. Though when I worked in the bakery, upfront, I learned to write on cakes, so I have that down well. I can't do all the flower and fancy edging.

Yes I agree with you that some kids are very talented and are very passionate about cooking varieties if foods.

The plating looks great but I hardly think there is enough to satisfy. You know of course that they have lots of coaching and do it this way especially for the camera. You are an awesome cook.

Brats, lol. I don't really enjoy cooking that much. I don't do much of it in the summer because the oven heats up this little place so easily. The only cooking themed show I ever watched was Hell's Kitchen, and you know that wasn't to get recipe ideas lol. That was just to be glad I wasn't there.

I like to cook but I love to invite my friends and listen to their applauses
. I never know how to put anything on a dish in a beautiful way so I bring nice pots to the table and ask them to help themselves. Sometimes, when my sister in law comes, I tell her to serve. She does miracles.
