I think most states will be doing this as well. A pandemic is no time to be kicking people out of their housing. For some reason this state seems to lead the country in evictions and it is good that people will not have to worry about losing their housing during these tough times. Some people lost their jobs and incomes..and having to worry about being evicted is not something they should have to deal with now!

President Trump just signed executive orders for protection from evictions for renters and homeowners.

Yes, but it will likely be left up to the states to enforce or not enforce them. He is not my President, he is simply warming the seat until somebody decent gets in there, IMHO..

@CarolDM I do, but I don't consider him to be MY President! He's Bozo the Clown as far as I am concerned. or worse, Bozo wasn't malicious.

@LadyDuck I think people are being encouraged to file here in order to be eligible for the stimulus. I don't think the IRS is attempting to collect on anyone at this time though.

@snowy22315 They also decided that people can wait to pay the annual taxes until the end of the year, no penalties.

Few private banks are playing foul game with customer. I am victim of it. During 1st weak of May Goverment announced the Moratorium policy so I have applied for it and received a message from Bank that your application received successfully and no deduction of EMI from your Bank for two months but at the end of June I received a call from Bank executive that I have not paid the the EMI of last two months please pay as soon as with penalty. I was shocked and visited the Bank to inform that I have applied for moratorium and instead of this I have been imposed penalty. He replied that this may be a fault of customer care who message you wrong that you are applicable for moritorium. Please send an email on this and this. 2 month have been gone after sending an email, till now I haven't reveived any email from them. So please be confirmed before appllying for moratorium.

Well that is your country, not that it couldn't happen here. I don't need a moratorium but some unfortunately could be in that situation. I hope you are able to straighten things out..That sounds like a big nuisance.

Much the same is happening here too. Some are finding it very hard to find rent but of course, the home-owners might be depending on the income too.

The government should assist persons who need a hand up. I agree with you that during this tough time, evictions of families that are having a hard time making ends meet should be waived.
