What? Golf? Exciting???
Yes.
It was downright thrilling.
The 2020 Legends is in the book, with repeat winners in both divisions.
The Pro division went into the second day with only one player under 100 (that’s for four rounds, mind you). After the seventh round, there was a four-way tie for first. At the end, only one player finished the eight rounds under 200, and took the title of 2020 Legend.
That was nothing compared to what my division dropped on the world. Going into the last round, one former Legend (Mike) had a three-shot lead over another former Legend (Johnathan). At hole seven, they had TIED. Then Mike went ace/ace and Johnathan went par/bogey to give Mike his three-shot lead back.
Then came the back nine. Johnathan was knocking everything in to get the score tied again. Mike was right with him. In went Johnathan’s ball, then in went Mike’s ball.
The finish came at the 144th hole. If you’ve ever played miniature golf you know that most of those 18th holes are “hill” holes, where you have to hit the ball up an incline. No different here.
Johnathan aced his putt.
Mike’s putt went right toward the cup....and lipped out.
Johnathan by one.
This two-time Legend didn’t play because of that ER visit on Wednesday, but I kept score for one player to keep a threesome out of the line-up (threesomes move notoriously slow). But I was there to hug the winner.
I count my blessings that I play this fun game with such terrific guys...and that I got to witness a tournament for the ages up close and personal!

@DocAndersen — to hole six, where Tiger Woods just farted.

@FourWalls its a short approach but I believe he would have easier shot on the upper side of the fairway. He is addressing the ball now.
Looks like he is sending it to a small town in Idaho.

That would be fun. You must be a fan of Holey Moley on TV.

@FourWalls I wouldn't turn sown the chance to win a million bucks .but you have to be quite an athlete for that show.

No. Some of our putters were asked to audition for it, and they turned them down when they realized it wasn’t golf centered.

No, I was still feeling a little puny from the ER visit, and it’s cumbersome on everyone when someone withdraws from the tournament (plus, it’s a two-day tournament, not just three or four rounds per day). So I kept score for the “odd man out” both days.
