Back to work today after a celebration day......

Good morning from this side of planet. It's 10:15 AM here and I am sitting here with a cup of milk with pinch of turmeric in it. And that would be my mid morning snacks for today. I felt full after my breakfast in morning and could not take my milk along with my breakfast.
I am having half an hour break before my second class begins for the day.
We can see sun today after a long wait of more than 10 days. Though I would still call it a hide and seek between clouds and sun. Anyway I have put a load for washing in machine and it should be done by the time I get my next break in between classes.
Yesterday was Krishna Janamashtmi ( a festival to celebrate birth of Lord Krishna). It was a celebration day for us at school. Each year we take four festivals in a year for grand celebration at school and this time this festival was chosen. It was the first celebration of this academic year. Though it was not any close to the real celebration in school but we tried our best to do it on a virtual platform. Everyone dressed up in traditional attires. We had stories, artwork and cooking around the celebration. I was given younger children in morning to tell them about Krishna's birth, later on grade 8&9 to do some artwork and talk about Krishna as an efficient manager in life skills. Later in afternoon session we made a sweet dish to offer to Krishna with children of 6&7 grade.
The day was exhaustive but lots of fun too. It was a good break from regular working day at school.
Now today we all were back to a regular day at school.
I will be here for some time to mylot as I enjoy my hot cup of milk

@arunima25 And it's wonderful that people all over the world have come up with some wonderfully creative ideas about making the best of the situations they find themselves in.

That's true! Celebrations are a part of human life. This pandemic crisis has totally changed the meaning of celebrations and we have quickly adapted to new ways.

@JudyEv You are so right. People have found new ways to hug and greet too. I guess that's why human beings are most successful species in survival. We can adapt soon and innovate ways.

Celebrating janmasthami festival virtually must truly be a new experience for the teachers and the students.

It was indeed a new experience. We had to really brainstorm to find ways to do it virtually. It comes so easy doing it physically but we get limited when it comes to virtual celebration.

@jayanth_77 Sometimes, the schools claim that all the activities are for the benefit of the kids, whereas in reality, they are for their own benefit to get name and fame.

Viral is safest for everyone. I hope school stay online only. Many got covid after schools open, with in person attendance.

@oahuwriter Parents here have made a petition saying that no physical school should start till there are zero case reporting. Not sure how looong will it be to reach that stage.

Even here with the sky rocketing cases we don't see that physical school will start soon. I feel this whole academic year will go with virtual classes.

I try to take milk twice and curd once in lunch time. Many a times I miss the milk in morning. But for everyone we have milk with turmeric in night. It is called golden milk due to all the health benefits it brings.

@Lavanya15 That's a good habit to develop from young age. I am glad that my children too are taking it since a young age. They never add sugar to milk. They have it with turmeric and if they want to sweeten it, they add a bit of jaggery to it.

Here, we are celebrating Sri Krishna Janmasthami today. The Lunar calendar marked two days as marked for the festival. One was yesterday, and the second day is today. We got it confirmed from someone and well the recommendation was to celebrate today.

It was no where close to the real physical ones, but guess the best one we could do in this pandemic crisis.
