What's in a name?

I check out an online news page each morning. Mostly it has West Australian news. Occasionally something comes up that I feel I have to share here. And today it is a story about a Perth woman who heard that there was a need for jumpers for orphan lambs. Because she was in lockdown, she downloaded a pattern, rediscovered a passion for knitting and has now made over 300 little jackets for lambs. She said knitting has saved her sanity since the pandemic struck.
And speaking of lambs, Fiacre (@xFiacre) wrote asking about our favourite words. One of mine is ‘pronking’ which is that stiff-legged bounce that lambs and sheep do when they’re happy or playing. Even Herc in his later years would pronk occasionally. I’ve only learnt the word recently.
Be that as it may, can you guess the name of the lady who knits the jumpers? Believe it or not, her name is Mrs Lambkin. I kid you not.
Photo is me with one of the many pet lambs we raised over the years.

@MALUSE It was the same in Italy Fabbro, Ferraro, Fattore, Massaro, Mezzadro, Medico, Speziale, Araldo, Console, o Almirante... those are pretty common and they all come from professions. Some comes from names of cities: Milani, Madelli, Bresciani.

@popciclecold If you've never had the chance to be with animals, then they would be scary, especially big animals like horses.

I actually learned about pronking about a year ago when I was at Disney's Animal Kingdom them park. One of the attractions there is a huge safari trek where a truck takes you through various wide open animal habitats. As we were driving through the African plains section, there were several gazelles that started pronking. The driver explained what it was and the word it was called. It was the coolest thing.

@JudyEv I'm sure that was very exciting for you to see deer in France! I would be giddy with excitement if I saw kangaroos in the wild on a visit to Australia.

It's very appropriate, isn't it, for someone who knits jumpers for little lambs.

What a cute picture. I had no idea there was a name for that bouncing around that lambs and sheep do! Mrs. Lambkin...what a coincidence. Have a great day.
