Sometimes, I really don't understand people. I am in a meme group on Facebook and it can be pretty funny. I don't mind memes about people or even things that are a little crude, BUT I don't think racist memes are funny.
Today there was a meme that portrayed a beautiful Indian woman and the words said something about the red dot being a scratch off to see if her husband won a motel or a gas station. I didn't think it was funny.
I'm not a prude, I just thought is was dumb and not funny at all. India has a beautiful rich culture, with very ambitious, intelligent, wonderful people. I love comedy. In fact, I actually want to be a comedian. I don't get offended when people attack me on Facebook or whatever. It doesn't bother me. It just shows how weak a person's argument is if they personally attack you, and as an aspiring comedian, I poke fun at myself ALL the time. But, not only was that joke in bad taste, it wasn't even remotely funny.
So anyway, people who losing it at me because I commented that it wasn't funny. Calling me a snowflake, wet wipe of a human, etc. Like I said, personal insults don't bother me. They don't know me at all. But why do people have to be so defensive over a stupid racist meme? The only people who were supporting my comment were Indians. I feel like for a country that has such a diverse cultural background, we don't embrace diversity very much, and in most places we are still separated by our respective cultures.
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't think racism is funny...

Completely agree with you. For making fun go for personal attack, in between taking country flags is not good thing.
I hate those people, they need their happiness only, don't think about others.
That's why I don't use any social media platforms lol.
