Walking at the Park

At East Cobb park in the heat of the day
Shadows dance like fairies at play
The Sun stood out in bold relief
In the sunny meadow along the creek.
Bird song floated on the breeze
Squirrels chatter from tree to tree
I hurry, saunter and stroll along
In love with the day so bright and strong
Almost to the field on Robinson road
I pass a lady her dog in tow
She smiled as we passed and said to me
Your friend is waiting for you I see
She waved a hand and so did I
No time for us to stop and chat
Not with the covid hanging about
We wear a mask except at the park
We can walk there and stay far apart
Our days are not like they used to be
Then we stopped with our friends
And chatted with ease
But we’re hanging in and holding our place
With care and patience we’ll win the race

You are lucky that there is a park where you can remove the mask. Here, you can be arrested anywhere without a mask, even inside your car.

@RubyHawk gee, I like that place where I can walk without a mask since only few people are there. Here, public places are always crowded. I just don't know with parks, there's not one near here.

@Alexandoy We would wear a mask if There wasn’t plenty of room. I wouldn’t take any chances. I’m sorry you don’t have a nearby park.

Wow, I would like it to be mandatory to wear a mask. That’s the only place I go without a mash. It’s a large park and you don’t need to be near anyone. Of late people are wearing masks in grocery stores. That’s the only place we go other than the park. The Governor still doesn’t mandate masks but I think people are deciding its for the best.

@rsa101 Parks near us might not be what you think. There don’t have carnival rides or anything like that. Some have a few swings for children but that’s about it. In most parks we have trees and long walking trails and a few benches.

@hayyusophana We don’t live right in the city. We live on a busy street but we have several parks not too far away,Actually I could walk on the sidewalk but I like the woods.

@cherigucchi I have my weights and my exercise ball. I can work out but I’d rather walk.

@amitkokiladitya Actually I feel like we’ve missed spring and summer. I can’t believe fall is almost here.
