Half day off.....a cup of coffee..

Happy Friday from this side of planet. It's a cloudy morning here with sun and cloud playing hide and seek. Anyway I put two bedsheets in laundry and I wish that sun wins the game. I love the laundry when they get a fresh sunlight.
Friday is a hectic schedule on work front. We work till 4:30 today. But today I have taken half day off from work. I will only join them for weekly report meeting from 1-2:30 in afternoon. And later I have my afternoon class at 4.
I took half day off as both parents were required at my elder daughter's school to complete some admission formalities in person. She is now in Higher Secondary. Time just flies.
The school had a deserted look. Every parent was assigned a half an hour window to make things go smooth and avoid crowding. We went through thermal scanning at five places and provided with sanitizers. All this felt so weird. Definitely the world has changed a lot since pandemic. My own city felt like an alien place from some science fiction with less traffic and everyone masked.
As I crossed the basketball court and football ground in school, I felt a pinch. These are the favorite places of school for my daughter. She has always been on school team.. She misses them so badly. In all my earlier visits to school, I would spot my daughter ( most of the times) sweating in these fields. I have drove her so many times at 4:30 AM for practice to these grounds before any interschool tournaments. Today the same grounds had a weird silence.
We are back to home. I am having my cup of coffee as I mylot on phone. We missed morning coffee as we had to be there right on time. I will switch on my laptop only in afternoon. Husband brought chicken on the way. Now I have to cook chicken biryani for lunch. For myself, I am going to cook vegetable rice.
After my coffee, I would go ahead with cooking lunch and few other chores. Till then I can mylot a bit.
Hope all are doing goodThe weekend mode has already set in.

My elder one is finding it very challenging to stay away from games. She keeps dribbling her football and basket ball in our house when ever she is free for some time. She is badly missing her games.

@amitkokiladitya Also she is in 11 grade now. So she feels only last two years on school team and only few games left in two years. In that too this crisis has already taken away one year.

@sophie09 Good that it was not crowded. it becomes tough to maintain social distancing otherwise. Enjoy your dinner!

I agree. It all appears alien and straight out of a science fiction. It has been months now but still I need to pinch myself to realize that something like this has actually happened.

I am not a coffee person. We have tea in morning. I will have coffee on days when I feel like having it after breakfast. I know of people who can not start their day without tea or coffee. For me it is not so.

Yesh! I got two hours at hand after finishing everything. So could cook and enjoy a special meal. Now the left overs save me from cooking dinner.

You are working from home so even its pandemic its look like you never off from work. Your schedule is very busy most of time and its a good relief with half day off although you take it for your daughter admission formality. Hope everything will go well.

You are so right. Work from home does save the blues of traffic and commutation time but then the work keeps lingering on for the whole of the day. That actually makes it quite exhaustive.

There is a weird silence in these places. Seems like we were walking through a war hit area or some danger zone. All these extra safety measures of thermal scanning and sanitizers...these all will take some time become a new norm. Somewhere we felt that life had lost something valuable.

Life is getting back to near normal but still things seem so unfamiliar. Everyone seems to be fearful and so cautious. The fun of being out is no more there.

It seemed so weird. I was out after few months and everything seemed so unfamiliar. It felt as if I am driving in a new city. This virus has really changed everything.

Thank you. Work from home gets more exhaustive. We always have something or the other work in home that catches our attention. SO we keep switching between the two work. And the day lingers on.
