August 15 - What I'm Thankful for Today

It's been a good day today, but then, when isn't it? Even when things don't go right, something always makes it good.
I'm thankful for the peaceful sleep I got last night. Six hours and twenty-three minutes of great sleep. With Aaron showing up yesterday, it felt like the weight of the world was off my shoulders.
I'm thankful for a good walk this morning and exercise to start the day. Soon, I'll start the day with swimming again. Two weeks until new glasses.
I'm thankful for my car. At this time when my son has it, I appreciate it even more and the ability to come and go as I please.
I'm thankful for the awesome food in my fridge and freezer. Sometimes, I wish I had the snacks and other stuff I used to eat and then I step on the scale and look in the mirror and know there's no way I'm going back to the old way of eating. Healthy is here to stay.
I'm thankful I have all the notifications finished, or I did before I left a while ago to work on Vendetta. I'll have them finished again. I've read some great posts. One a post from @DianneN. A very happy anniversary tomorrow.
I'm thankful for the work I accomplished on Vendetta today. I took it apart and I'm slowly getting it back together as I get ready to bring this novel to a surprising end. Surprising because I don't know all the details yet. That's how it usually goes when I'm working on a novel. I know the end when the reader does.
Okay, that's a snapshot of my day. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I'm glad it is. Unlike last night when you were looking for the hearing aid.

You are showing great restraint staying away from those snacks. Using that scale as a motivator is a smart way to keep inline. Such a terrific photo of you by the water. Nothing like a picturesque view of nature to make one smile.
I'm thankful the beaches and boardwalks are still open in spite of a surprising portion of ignorant people who do not social distance from strangers or wear masks.

Yes, the scale is a great motivator to stay clear of the snacks. I have some healthy ones, but even those I haven't touched in months. I just might throw them away.
That's good they're still open. There will always be people who won't wear masks.

I am thankful for my health, and that I have been able to get my high blood pressure under control, get my sugar levels lowered, and effectively deal with the anxiety I have been experiencing over the past month. I am also thankful for the quality time I continue to experience with my kids. One is 20 and the other 17, so they are at that age when kids typically don't like hanging around with their parents. But thankfully, mine still like to do things with me.

@just4him I'm trying to enjoy every possible moment with my kids, because I know in a few short years they will be starting careers and families of their own, and will turn their focus towards those things. I just hope to remain very close to them through all the rest of my years. After I graduated from college and started my own job and family, I admit that I did not remain close with my parents at all, and I regret that now (they both have passed). That's time with them that I can never get back. I don't want the same thing to happen with my own children.

I am thankful for my loved ones. I am thankful for the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for me when I do not know any better. I am thankful for the Slim-Fast diet as my health direly needed the diet.

Glad to hear about your day, and that you had a good one. I am thankful that my great-grandmother is doing well, and that I got to see her today.

@just4him No problem. And I am always glad to see her because who knows how long she'll be with us. Hopefully she still has a couple years still with us...but you just never know.
