Would you trust the vaccine from Russia or China?

Personally I wouldn't have the vaccine from either Russia or China because I do not trust the method of clinical trials. I am waiting for the Oxford vaccine or maybe one in the US laboratories. Let's hope that the best vaccine will be the first to be used for public inoculation.

I have heard horror stories about taking the vaccine whether it is from Russia, China or any other nation. The answer is no.

I don't have a vaccine now for flu and pneumonia but I guess I will take the covid vaccine from a reputable laboratory.

@Deepizzaguy the risk is always there when the vaccine is doubtful.

@Alexandoy I guess the risks will be the same with others too contending for the title of having the cure. I think the risks will all be the same whether it will be the Russian, Chinese, Americans and others. Even WHO is also in a hurry to approve anyone who could claim the honor of being the first one.

@rsa101 if the risk will be the same then we should not accept the vaccine and just wait for the issues of side effects that will arise.

The problem with side effect is that it may manifest after a year.

Maybe the Russian one if it is proven to work.
I wouldn't trust anything from China

Same with me. Chinese products are always doubtful with the quality.

@jayanth_77 it will take a year. Dengvaxia was discovered to have a side effect... good only for persons who had dengue before.

@Alexandoy yes side effects is a big worry. Unless these side effects are known the vaccines should not be declared safe.

I would trust the vaccines from Russia and China since they have good medical research infrastructures. Their economies always had the lesser shock-absorbing capacity, they need to stand up on their feet sooner than much stronger economies of the west. I too have all eyes on the Oxford vaccine, also the one to come out in India, and of course those from the US and Europe too.

@Alexandoy I trust in the scientific method, no matter where it is applied. That said, we cannot deny that a lot of politics and money-making is also involved in the whole vaccine thing across the globe. At the same time, to do politics and to make money, people are required. So everybody is going for the vaccine. Everyone wants to sell it abroad and improve foreign relations, everyone wants to make money out of it, yet everyone wants to save the people of their own country.

@Alexandoy In that sense I too am. There has been a literal 'sacrificing' of common people in such cases, and the current crisis only proves this ever more if the policies are looked critically.

I will wait for results first. I won't trust any early version of a medicine

If it works why not? Because it is Russia? China? The US makes a lot of medical mistakes nor after decades have they found a vaccine for AIDS, Cancer, etc.

The clinical testing is the most critical part of the development. A haphazard test may cause neglect of side effect.
