Advance or Advanced?

In one workshop that I attended, there was an argument on the tarpaulin. Which is right, advance scriptwriting or advanced scriptwriting? I led the group that said Advanced is correct but majority of us are in the Advance.
Oh well, I was the one who conducted Training for Trainors.

Advance is a verb while advanced is an adjective. Both mean the same. Here advanced usage is correct. Adjective helps to describe the noun. Example: Beautiful girl , So here Advanced is used to describe the script writing course to be an advanced course unlike the basic course.

@jayanth_77 that is a good opportunity. I also studied in a Catholic school in high school.

@Alexandoy yes. I studied in a convent school run by Christian nuns who were very strict in imposing English as language of learning.

"Advance Scriptwiting" would imply that it's a course about writing scripts in advance or beforehand {whatever that might mean: it's basically nonsense).
"Advanced Scriptwriting [Course]" means that the course is at a higher level than a 'Basic' or 'Intermediate' course.
I'd suggest that anyone who said 'Advance Scriptwriting' was correct should review their English skills!

@Alexandoy I had to delete the written post in the favour of the first twice since I could not agree myself.

I agree with Owl. If it's "Advance Scriptwriting" it would mean writing the script in advance. If it's "Advanced Scriptwriting" it would mean scriptwriting at a higher level. Being that I did not attend the session, I do not know which topic was the one that was covered, so I do not know which would be the correct way of saying it.

No need for the dictionary. It is the usage that matters.

I'm no expert, but 'Advanced' sounds correct to me too.
