From the 10 people allowed it was now increased to a bigger crowd inside the church. The church caretaker said that the capacity of the church depends on the size. I think that is the most logical instead of the fixed maximum of 10 people inside the church.

It makes sense to allow people depending on the size of the place. All they need to ensure is that the people inside are able to stand at a distance from each other.

I saw the benches in the church with some big X mark which means a space between people.

@Alexandoy That's a good way to ensure safe distancing and I'm sure now people have got used to following these rules more keenly than they did earlier.

@Miracle_Maya more likely the faithful are learning. I have not been to the church for the mass yet.

The first declaration (I think it was July) that only 10 will be allowed inside, that is the government's announcement. Even outside the church there is social distancing with the markers on the ground.

@Alexandoy We also have markers on the ground outside the malls and supermarkets, not outside the churches.

@LadyDuck does that mean people cannot stay outside the church for the service?

@msdivkar maybe the temples are closed on orders of the government due to the number of covid cases.

@Alexandoy Exactly! If they only allow a certain amount of people, isn't there the chance that not everyone will be able to attend?

@simone10 yes, not everyone can attend when the church is already full to the desired capacity. The people have to register by the church entrance and when the church is full they can just stay outside. There's a loud speaker there.

I think it is the measurement of the distance between people that is important. So the capacity would depend on the size of the church.

Were your churches closed altogether during the pandemic, or were you always allowed to have 10 people inside? Our churches were closed, and many are still closed. Our religious services have been streamed online.

When we were on a lockdown all churches were closed by the government. They were allowed to open in June (or July maybe) but with restrictions. Now they are changing the rules to a more logical number.

@moffittjc the rules here are ever changing so I just ask around. Right now the nearby church is open but with limited capacity.

@Alexandoy I don’t know what our rules are right now with churches, but the church I go to is still closed.

I had read that news of 10 maximum inside the Quiapo church. It is a small cathedral but so big for 10 people only.

My church is open on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. We are allowed a limited capacity. I have been going lately so I finally get to play my clarinet.
