As an investor, I know it is beneficial to diversify my portfolio. For a good diversification, I have chosen to add some crowdlending activities.
The concept of crowdlending is that us regular people, can lend out our money to either companies or other individuals, who then over time pay back their loan including interest.
Currently I am participating in a crowdlending platform, who helps finance investments in solar energy to bring clean energy to emerging markets. I like the thought that I can help make a better world, while my investment yields me interest.
Have you ever heard of crowdlending? And do or would you invest in crowdlending?

Yes, I currently have a minor amount of my investment portfolio invested in Crowdlending. I do conduct a thorough background research before just picking a platform.

@Sojourn there are crowdlending sites that allows you to lend out to individuals through other lending companies. Outside of the crowdlending sites, I've only lend out to individuals which are amongst my friends.

I like the concept for sure, and when I want to invest a portion of my money, why not place a partial in such multiple rewarding investments?

For now it seems safe, they have been running several years - so it is not a start up investment. That said, with all investments comes a risk.

It is certainly a good option to diversify ones investment portfolio, I would personally never rely 100% on my crowdlending investments - as thse only contain maybe at most 10% of my invested funds.

@Downwindz it is a wise move! Sometimes business can go right or wrong, so spenind a modest quantity of money is good enough! Good luck with that! I hope it pays off!

My background research says it is reasonably safe, and they have a lot of good feedbacks and reviews, also from official sources and not just "money making blogs". That said, one should always keep in mind that there is a risk of investing money.
