When it rains people generally take shelter under a tree or some metal structures to avoid getting drenched in the rain. Most scientists and experts have found that lightening strikes tall structures like towers , buildings and even trees. The metal structures and trees acts as earthing rods having negative potential for the lightning to reach the earth. Hence avoid going out in the rain avoid standing close to trees or tall structures as they can cause severe burns and even death.
