World Orangutan Day Today

Did you know that Orangutan Day is recognized August 19th, every year? This world wide event is to help encourage the public to take action in preserving this amazing species. The orangutan is my favorite zoo animal. They are so entertaining to watch. And very intelligent as well. Not my photo above, but I do have some I snapped a few years ago while visiting the zoo. Just cannot find them on this computer. Have a favorite zoo animal?

It seems to be all kinds of days today. I like the orangutan also. I love watching all the monkeys, apes, and gorillas at the zoo.

I don't like Orangutans at all, lol I don't even know why! However it is so important that they have a world wide international day that means its preservation! I don't personally have a favorite animal, I think each one of them are special in their own way! Thanks for the educational post Carol!

Thank you for telling. I hardly ever see orangutans at the zoo here (or am i the one who's not that far away?) Besides that, these animals are also cute :( my favorite zoo animal is elephant hahah! he is very big and his proboscis is cute !! thanks for reading it.
