The ilang-ilang is a unique flower which has long slender petals that exudes a nice scent. It is often used in the samapaguita lei. Vendors would pick the ilang-ilang flowers and soak it in water to preserve the scent. There used to be a tree in the neighbor that we would smell when it rains. But unfortunately the tree was felled by a storm.

The tree felled more than 10 years ago. I still do not know how to propagate the tree.

@Alexandoy I miss that smell. I wonder if there is a 100% essential oil of ilang-ilang.

The green ilang-ilang flower looks so beautiful. I haven't heard about it but but looks like a very useful flower. What are its uses?

@rhuenz no more sampaguita farms, the land is used for something else.

@jvicentevalera you can imagine a big and tall tree with those flowers and no fruits. It would be disappointing to find that in the forest.
