Every year lakhs of people die around the world due to blood loss during an accident or surgery. Doctors believe that in all such cases there was no blood donor available in time which could have saved a person's life.
Every human being can donate blood 3 times a year and only 350 ml of blood needs to be donated at a time. Although blood and it's components like RBC, plasma , WBC gets replaced in the body within a few weeks; but people are hesitant to donate blood.
People need to be made aware to donate their blood. It's a noble deed to donate blood on ones birthday or anniversary which can help in saving lives.
Have you donated blood?

@piyushbhatia1 Blood banks are usually present in big hospitals or they tie up with blood banks for the supply of blood when the need arises.

From the age of 18 to 29 years, I donated blood regularly twice a year to Lion's club. But then I had some health complications that make me not eligible for it. Husband still does it once a year. I will consider my second chance at life only because I could get blood in time. So I know what a noble job is it.

If you are a blood donor you are eligible for free blood of the same amount you donated. This is what I heard. You need to show the donation certificate when you need blood.

You need to donate blood . Its actually beneficial to you health wise. You get rid of the excess iron that accumulates in the body over the years. Preserves cardiovascular health and reduces the risk of cancer.

There is nothing to be scared. It hardly takes 20 minutes to donate blood. But you will feel proud when your blood has saved someone's life .
