hi all!
fellow mylotter @corbin5's discussion about people with different-colored eyes or hematochromia reminded me of something i've been curious to know about mylotters from other countries.
like other filipinos, i have black hair and black eyes so that's what most of us automatically put in official forms, IDs, passports, at the bank, school, job, etc.
but what if you color your hair?
if you're bald?
if you have different-colored eyes?
here are some interesting answers i found from the website passportinfo about US passports:
" My hair is a different color than it was when my last passport was issued. What should I put down for “hair color”?"
"List the current color of your hair, as shown in the passport photo you are submitting with your passport renewal application."
"My eyes are two different colors. How should I answer the “eye color” question?
Please list the color of one of your eyes."
"I’m bald. What should I put down for “hair color”?
Provide the color of your eyebrows or other facial hair."
there is a disclaimer, though, at the bottom that: "passportinfo.com is not operated, maintained by, or affiliated with any passport offices or government agencies. It is a privately operated website portal for informational purposes only."
even so, it was still very fascinating for me to read.
i just don't know if it's the same for other countries.
how about you? do you stick to one eye and hair color?

You know I am Japanese, so I can get away with black hair, black eyes. But "technically" I do have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, so that's what I put . . . very dark brown though of course but there is no option for "very" . . . .

@hereandthere The thing is my hair is naturally brown - not a true black. However, as you mentioned "old people", you remind me I really should add grays/whites to the dark brown .

@much2say i still haven't colored mine. i had a chinese coworker who also had naturally dark brown hair and lots of freckles. maybe the brown is more common in east asians.

when we were growing up, only the "old people" colored their hair and it was only different shades of brown. now it's so different. all colors, all ages, all genders.

@Butterfingers but the answers in this post in quora says there are indians with colored eyes even if they have no foreign blood

I know that those who are bald under "hair color" must write "bald". For what concerns the eyes I think that very few people have two different colors, if it is the case we right "left: blue - right: green", for the hair color, of course the color at the moment you renew your Passport of ID... if you want to go to Russia and you change the color "GOOD LUCK", my fiend has been sent back because she changed the color.

yeah, i think bald is better.
i always thought you stick to the color you were born with.
i think some people like to have a new look before they go on holiday.
how awful for your friend.

@hereandthere i have only colored my hair black but never brown, blond, or any other color. i might look like the yellow corn already if i let my hair permed yellow.

@rina110383 i'm the only one in my family who hasn't colored yet and don't really plan to. i've had my hair curled then straightened before, but that was decades ago.

@hereandthere No, I haven't tried. I've never tried any hair treatment in my entire life except hair trimming. Not sure if it will suit me. What hair colors have you tried?

It is interesting to know the answer for the bald. Why eyebrows? Is it because it is the closest hair?
