A bit at a time

The lead teacher is constantly called to various meetings. We are getting the class ready a bit at a time.
We almost finished putting the folders with the Individual Educational Plans (IEP,s) together before we left.
We have rewritten our schedules three times, I think.
There are eleven students on our case load. According to the IEP's each of them have we provide services and support in their regular classroom, as well as some pull out for some of them. Some of them have physical therapy, some speech and language therapy, some occupational therapy.
Some of them have behavior goals. Some need behavior support at lunch, in PE and in Music.
It is like juggling to see how many plates you have in the air.
Covid makes things somewhat harder, because we are not to mix kids from other classes, students must all face the same direction in class. There has to be some distance. No collaborative learning.
It is all fine.
Oh yes, we all wear masks.

I like seeing other faces and learning new things, while I mourn the things we will not have or do this year.

Right now we are planning for live classes in the building but we do have to develop plans for students who choose to be online and for an emergency shut down.

The major blocks in the schedule were hammered out by the principal, but there are always little tweaks at the grade level.

It will, for sure. And they will be doing state assessment tests at that time.

Just one day at a time. John the lead teacher makes no bones about it he is a Christian and wants us to speak positively into these student's lives.
